Dr. Lamont “Monty” Sprague grew up in Central Illinois in the Springfield area. He received his undergraduate degree at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, then went on to optometry school at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where he graduated with honors. Upon graduation, he purchased an established practice in Crystal Lake. The practice has grown steadily through the years and he is currently in his third office.
Dr. Sprague is a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, and Lake-McHenry Counties Optometric Association. Dr. Sprague has participated in civic organizations including Rotary and Jaycees. He provides complete family eye care, including contact lenses and treatment of eye disease. He has emphasized continuing education throughout his career and his ongoing commitment to furthering clinical knowledge continues to this day.
Dr. Sprague resides in Crystal Lake with his wife of 39 years, Vicki. They have 3 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, watching all sports, and spending time with family.
Lifetime Vision and Contact Lens Center is pleased to announce the addition of our new doctor: Dr. Kaitlyn Sprague Keller, Optometrist and daughter of Dr. Sprague.
Dr. Keller was born and raised in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in biology. She completed her graduate education at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Her clinical training included rotations at Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago, ocular disease and pediatrics at the Illinois Eye Institute, as well as primary care and contact lens at private practices throughout the Chicagoland area.
She received her Doctorate in Optometry in 2012 from the Illinois College of Optometry and went on to complete a post-graduate residency in primary care and ocular disease at the Illinois Eye Institute. In this additional year of training, Dr. Keller gained experience in primary care, ocular disease, ocular emergencies, pediatrics and contact lens, as well as co-managed pre- and post- surgical cases while working alongside ophthalmologists.
Dr. Keller also works at the Illinois Eye Institute where she is a clinical instructor and enjoys teaching 2nd, 3rd and 4th year optometry students. She is currently working on completing her fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Keller resides in Algonquin with her husband, Christian, who is a biology teacher and football coach at Palatine High School. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with family including their five nieces and nephews, skiing and traveling to visit their sister in New York. As a long-time Crystal Lake resident, she is happy to return home and become active in the community. Having grown up with her father influencing her desire to treat and care for patients, she is very excited to be joining the family practice!
